Sitges is a cosmopolitan resort set on a headland at the northern end of Spain’s Costa Dorada, only 25 miles from Barcelona. Vacations to Sitges became popular in the early 1900’s, leaving a heritage of luxury mansions and villas.

Now Sitges includes a stylish laid-back Bohemian atmosphere and is very popular with the gay community. There’s a selection of watersports available on the Sitges beaches including scuba diving, jet skiing, water skiing, water engine biking, windsurfing, surfing, sailing and pedalos. A number of the beaches offer group exercise classes and have organised beach games like volleyball. The shores are less active in the Autumn when temperatures hover around 20C to 25C with ocean temperatures nevertheless an extremely pleasant 20C to 23C.

Away from the beach activities include trekking in the Garraf Mountains, horse rides along the coastal paths and golf. For the more adventurous there is skydiving, hang-gliding, hot-air ballooning, 4x4 adventure trips and quad biking.
